Just watched Keith Barry do some ridiculous hypnosis. Gave me the coolest idea for a novel ever. I'd be writing it now, but still waitin' on that trip to Springfield so we can get the laptop my dad's been eying. We were gonna go get it last weekend, but, of course, stuff came up. So, here's hoping that I'll have more luck this weekend.
:: Right, so, I'm actually happy with my first scene, and I think I'm gonna stick with this whole "Chance narrating different parts" thing. I can't wait for you guys to read it. ^^ But I'm still waiting on getting that laptop so I can get it on computer to send it to you (it takes too much time to do it on the family computer). Also, I took out the chess scene due to chronological issues, plus, it takes away from the momentum of the story. And, finally, I rearranged the scenes last night so that I could add Chance's narration in without disrupting the flow. ::

Cool. And I hope you get your laptop soon!
As far as my story goes, I haven't been doing much with it for a while due to vacation. But I should be writing some more as soon as I stop jet lagging. ;D

Yeah, me too. Last weekend turned out to be unlucky. I expect the same for this coming weekend, but maybe things will work out the following weekend. . . *sigh* :: Anyway, um, I spent some time this week, and I now have a list of chapters/episodes for the entire first book/season. I'm still workin' on the second; the ideas are comin' slowly, but I don't want to rush genius. lol. I'll send you guys the list (and brief descriptions of each chapter/episode) when I send you the current draft of the pilot (i.e., the first chaptisode). ::

Cool. And I like the word, chaptisode. I shall start using it. ;D And I would like to read the first chaptisode. lol

Well, I'll have the first chaptisode done shortly after I receive my graduation present. Until then, I convinced my mom to buy me a simple 8 GB flash drive. My dad was against the idea of getting two, but afterward, my mom asked why I didn't get a backup drive. ;D *shrug* Ah well, I'll get a second drive next time we go. Perhaps a third. Anyway, I now have a place to keep everything so that my future laptop will run smoother. :: As for the series itself, I've planned the basic plots all the way through the first two seasons/books (seabooks?). And the majority of the first six or seven chaptisodes is already in my head -- plot development, character development, themes, general atmosphere, and even personal musings have been decided. I gotta say, I'm really excited for this. Once you guys read the first chaptisode, you'll know exactly what my name means, by the way. ::

Well, now that I have my laptop, I have begun writing. And I have found that my story is a lot longer than I'd originally anticipated. I am on the third realtime scene of the first episode (plus a fourth, extra scene that acts as a running prologue). Anyway, that took me an hour, so yeah, as I predicted, making this chaptisode is going to take a bit longer than I thought.
On top of that, I leave for an 8-day-long mission trip starting Friday, so I will not be on my laptop at all for that time. After that, I will have to hurry to prepare for college, as I must be there on August 13. Getting used to college life will certainly take up my time, but as soon as I have a good handle on classes and homework and other activities, I will be able to resume writing.
So... I'm thinking you guys will get to read the first chaptisode sometime around the end of August or, if I terribly unlucky, early September. We'll just see how things work out.
But until Friday, I have two days to type up what I can. Maybe if there's enough, I'll just send you whatever it is I have done before I have to leave.

Okay, so, update time. I am back from the mission trip, hooray, so I can write more. But I did finish my first chaptisode just before I left. Turns out, it wasn't a bad decision to stay up 'til 2am writing the last several scenes, because they turned out great. Totally off the top of my head, too. :: Anyway, so, here's basically what happened. Blake and Lance were discharged from the Enforcers (as in the tv series) and ended up working at an autoshop in the middle of a military salvage yard in order to pay of an impossible debt (which was primarily Commander Feral's fault, to boot). They found the underground bunker and built their own jet, the Turbokat (gotta stick with the show ). Later, they found out who was responsible for an unsolved attack on Commander Feral, and they went off to save the day, preventing the second attack from succeeding. The culprit is none other than our main villain (and the only supervillain in the series), Dark Kat. He doesn't have the bad-guy name yet, though -- he still goes by his real name. Now, as for the second chaptisode, I had a bit of trouble writing anything for it, probably because my inspiration cooled off after the 8-day trip away from writing. However, as always, I found my inspiration during a thunderstorm this morning and I am now moving speedily once more. This should be a good second episode, as it builds directly off the events of the first. Griffin, as before, shall be my guinea pig. He seemed to like the last one, which bodes well for my series. If Sky or Kyira were to log on once in a while, I might be able to send them the revised draft of the first chaptisode.

Just today, I got hit with two cool ideas for books. The first is complicated. You know how sometimes, in books or movies or the like, the characters will suddenly take notice of the fact that they're in a book or movie, or that there is background music? This is usually for comedic effect. Anyway, that is called "breaching the fourth wall." Well, it occurred to me that stories have a sort of law in them that we, as residents of reality, don't have. Just like we have the law of gravity, every story has the law of narrativity (as I shall refer to it). In other words, the very fact that they are in a story is a law of nature for them. It affects their reality. For instance, they know that something out of the ordinary is going to happen to them because they are in the story; if nothing happened, I wouldn't write about it, therefore there would be no story. Still with me? What if the characters knew about this law? What if they studied it like our scientists study other laws of nature? What if they knew that they were in a story? That is the basic idea for my book. I don't have any of the specifics worked out, but it would be a great comedy piece for me to do when I'm not writing SWAT Kats chaptisodes. The second story is simple, and I just wrote the introduction to it while it was still fresh in my mind. Evolution. The second worst idea humans have ever had, next to eating the forbidden fruit. Well, this flawed theory is rather prevalent among the media and whoever writes school textbooks. But what would happen if it were prevalent enough that every government on earth accepted it as fact? Laws would change, lots of people would die, and you would ultimately end up with a world wherein people are concerned only about survival. In other words, people would actually be even more self-centered than they already are -- can you believe it? But that's why people like evolution. It lets Darwinists focus entirely on themselves. It's a crutch for those who don't want to let go of their own narcissism. (Now imagine a world with laws based on that. That's my setting. ) ::All right, so the second chaptisode isn't quite as exciting as the last. I'm mostly just tying up some loose ends from the pilot and establishing a second, more public-perception-based conflict. But, I do get to include a little heist scene and reference the movie Lethal Weapon. ;D

Cool. I like the concept of the first book. That could be cool. The second one also sounds like a good idea. Also don't forget about the Science of Humor idea. I think we should do some stuff with that. Besides that I've been working on my story a little bit. Don't want to give out details yet though.
