This is where you can post ideas that you just pull out of thin air. They don't have to be ridiculously normal or ridiculously ridiculous. Just post your ideas, and we'll try to make something out of them. Once we have a basic idea as to what direction we're headed, this will be easier.
Off the top of my head, I have two characters sitting about with nothing to do. One's a guy who lives forever yet has amnesia and therefore knows nothing about himself. The other is his friend, a ghost -- we think -- named. . . [dramatic music] . . . R.J. Ooooooo...
...shut up.
R.J. is a new spin on ghosts. He has no purpose to fulfill, he might never move on, he can't teleport wherever he wants to go (like, he can't just appear somewhere), and he can't fly/float/whatever. He's just like anybody else, except he's invisible, intangible, and inaudible unless he tries really hard. Also, people who live forever, like the first guy I mentioned, can see, hear, and touch R.J. When R.J. tries to become visible/tangible/audible to normal peoples, he uses a lot of energy, so nearby electric appliances might falter, people might feel a little drowsier than usual, and the air will get colder (heat is energy). . . I can only wonder what he could do if he were near a nuclear reactor. . . lol. . . Also, he loves to mess with ghost hunters.
Ooh. There's an idea! Ghost hunters, anybody?

I like that idea. There is one character that I had been thinking of.
A man named......uhhh......Jeff....that could very well change. But he lives in the outskirts of the city we had mentioned earlier, and he's a Marine. But he got discharged with a Purple Heart when he got shot in the chest. He now wears a defibrillator. Well not really wears one. Its in his chest. But it keeps him alive. He keeps to himself and lives alone with his cat, Phil? Changeable. Also, he is very good with guns, and he owns plenty of them. Not to mention many off road trucks.
Thats my idea. I could give him some sort of power that he doesn't know he has for a while. But thats just what I could come up with on the spot.

Actually, it would be kind of cool if we had a non-super-powered character who was just awesome at fighting. And since this guy's a Marine, that could work out really well.
What we need, I think, is a sort of complicated antagonist. That is, we need something that adds some real art to the plot (don't get me wrong -- explosions are fun) and provides the basic conflict. All stories have conflicts, so we need to think of one, and I think this one will have to come with a character or two. I actually don't have anything for that just yet, so if you guys think up something before I do, let me know. ;D

Maybe there was a man, a very powerful man, that was trying to take control of the U.S. Government. And maybe there was a major U.S. Government building in the city that he was trying to take over first. So maybe this man had an army and he was putting all the people in the city into prisons, work camps, or even deporting them. And of course there was a rebellion against this man's government. That could be where our characters come in. Thats my plot idea.

Okay, I see where you're going with that, yeah.
What if it wasn't the U.S., just something similar? Like, what if we did it like they did back in ye olde school -- where the city was the country, so to speak? Maybe not, but at least it could be either the capitol or some place with a lot of government influence. I'd rather not actually have it be a place that exists in reality, 'cause this way, we can have total creative freedom with stuff. But I like this gist of this. Perhaps this guy is preparing a sort of coup to overthrow the government, which can somehow be done there in that city, and the "good guys" or just some of them, try to stop him and fail. He takes over, things get bad. Still, since he's in total control, he can make it look like nothing's happening. Mr. Marine guy recruits/is recruited to help overthrow the government again and make things good again. I'm also thinking this "bad guy" should be crazy enough to try anything -- blow up entire buildings -- just to keep his image.

Yeah that is good. I'm thinking this city could be the capital of the country. And it can be democratic with a president and everything. But we don't have to call it a president. It can be leader, chancellor, Supreme Leader, etc. We could go far with this. ;D

Sounds good. Well, that's actually all I have thoughts for right now. I'm gonna have to let this sit in my brain for a while. Maybe a day. Maybe two.
In the meantime! Somebody post in the What Are You Writing? thread so I can fill you in on the next exciting scuttlebutt of my story-thing! which I shall do later, because I have to leave for a little time. ;D

Yeah, it really is. I just got an idea! It's really more of a scene, but still. It starts out with like five, maybe, guys who are on the roof of the capitol building. The leader of the group goes over their directions briefly, and everyone scatters to do their job. The leader and another guy goes into the building while six other guys split up and cover all the exits and several others leave to guard the surrounding streets. Meanwhile, some lady person directs more people just outside the city, preparing for an approaching army. The leader and the other guy break in and take out two of Mr. Evil's bodyguards who are off-duty until Mr. Evil arrives. The two quickly change into the bodyguard suits before Mr. Evil arrives and follow him into a large room with lots of important-looking people (and many more reporters). Meanwhile, lady-person spots some possible troops approaching from the east, just as they had all expected. Mr. Evil sits down to have a meeting with the President (or whatever the position is called). Leader and other guy exchange glances (dramatically, of course, lol). Outside, people capture/kill five of the men stationed at the exits. Inside, leader points runs up and points gun at Mr. Evil while other guy takes out the bodyguards and other people with guns (he's really good at shooting stuff, apparently). Lady-person notices something strange at the lake and hesitantly holds a flashlight up at it. Suddenly, a grenade goes off in the middle of her men. Meanwhile, the leader has escorted Mr. Evil outside at gunpoint with other guy guarding from the rear. They get outside to the one exit still guarded by one of leader's men. Leader starts to give his little hero-speech when the guard holds a gun to leader's head and shoots other guy. Mr. Evil smiles evilly, of course, but refrains from giving leader the full bad-guy monologue. Meanwhile, lady-person grabs radio and yells that the forces from the east were just a decoy -- Mr. Evil's troops were coming out of the lake (weird). Mr. Evil says something like "You lose," and either kills or captures leader. I don't know which. Anyway, it ends up with the entire capitol building exploding. Okay, so that's what just popped into my head. I like it. But of course, this is just an idea. We don't even have to go this direction. My idea is that the lady-person is one of the few of the "resistance" that survive the snafu. So, she goes around, recruiting more people, but this time, she goes after the more. . . unusual types. . . After all, she's run out of normal people fit for the job. This is where R.J., Mr. Livesforever, and Mr. Marine come in. Thoughts are welcome!

That's a cool idea! That would be a cool action sequence! And on a different note, I think I'll make a thread for my character. Just so I can get some ideas down and stuff. But you're welcome to give feedback and stuff there too! ;D

All right, so if any of you have (an) idea(s) for a character, post him/her in a new thread here in the Character Design thread. Sky, you and Kyira can both work on the lady-person character. Collaboration is the best policy here.
